Andreas Uniform Policy

At Andreas school we believe that a uniform can:

• instil pride in the school, encourage pupils to identify with it and to support its ethos
• promote positive behaviour and discipline
• help to protect pupils from peer group pressure to dress in a certain fashion
• help to promote cohesion between groups from different backgrounds

As such we:

• would like all children to wear the school uniform including dark, comfortable shoes.
• would like the school PE kit to be worn for PE, however, appropriate PE clothing must be worn in all PE lessons including swimming.
• would like all items of uniform to be clearly labelled with your child's name.

For your information:

• All items of branded school uniform are available from Promenade Shirts and Embroidery Ltd, Queen’s Promenade, in Douglas.
• Second hand uniform is displayed the last week of each term for you to purchase items. We welcome donations of uniform no longer required. Profits go to school funds.
• If you have any questions or issues with uniform, please discuss them with the Headteacher.
